The Tippmann 98 paintball gun.

No other gun looks like it or shoots like it. The Tippmann Model 98, referred to as the M 98 by most players, is probably the most dependable and rugged paintball gun available on the market today. The Model 98's simplistic design along with its high quality construction makes it almost indestructible and extremely dependable.

It might look like a machine gun and on occasion perform like one, but it is quite safe so long as you and your enemy are wearing your face masks & it won't draw blood so don't worry.

The Tippmann will fire up to 6 balls per second by simply pulling the trigger (no pumping required). The balls are travelling at around 250ft per second. That's fast

We only use the best Zap premium quality paint balls. They are accurate and don't burst in the barrel of the gun. Some paintball sites you may have gone to, who don't use Zap may get problems with barrel blockages caused by low quality paint. Here at Essex Paintball,

Our equipment is probably one of the most important parts of your day. Fresh clean overalls, hoods and goggles when you arrive. Reliable guns, free gas refills, capacity in the gun so you don't have to keep reloading, the option to carry more ammo with our battlepacks and ammo loaders.

Few paintball sites offer this package and even fewer offer it free of charge.
Instruction on how to use it


You got the cammo gear, the battle packa dn the anti-mist full head protection face mask... what about the semiautomatic gun?

Before we let you near the guns you will need to listen carefully to a 15 minute safety induction speech.

We will endeavour to deomonstrate the awesome potential of the Tippmann 68 semiauto paint gun and how to use it safely so that you don't injure yourself or anyone around you. We will of course emphasise that you should always wear a face mask when outside the 'safe area' where the guns are racked and the games are played.

We have a small firing range for you to practice on before the games begin.
What we'll do if you have any difficulties


These guns can fire up to 6 rounds per second but if you use them as walking sticks they do stop working!

The Tippmann 98 is by far the most reliable semi available for site use. It is not at all tempromental and rarely stops working unless the user has attempted to strip it down or used it to dig a trench.

If the gun does go down for any reason any one of our marshalls will clear it immediately of any blockage or replace the gun.
What foot wear?

Good quality hiking or trail boots with ankle support are also a good idea to protect feet and ankles.

What should I bring with me?

If its cold and wet, obviously bring a jumper or if you are really worried about going home in damp clothing - bring a second set.

Lastly, don't forget to bring extra money incase you wish to buy a few more pots of paintballs or a light snack.
